Pie and Pancove Festival

Gastronomic festival organized at the La Lele Ruzale house-museum in Vima Mica, focusing on pies and pancovies, important traditional products of the local cuisine. Pies and pancovies are famous products in Maramureș and for many years, peasants who went to work in the cottage or with their family were served with these goodies. The grasshoppers received the pies as warm as possible, and the housewife struggled to get to the field as soon as she finished baking them. Pancovies were still served and this custom is still worn at the most important events in the family or community. Pancovies and pies are part of the local cuisine.

Cultural Significance

Preserves and promotes pastries associated with traditional Maramureș households.
