Speaking and Singing Romanian

The reference event is the cultural event "Grăind și horind românește", which takes place in Remecioara (Remetea Chioarului commune), in Maramureș County. This initiative is closely linked to the "Danț la Șură" Folklore Festival. The event is coordinated by local organizations, including the Casa Maramureșană Association, with the central aim of preserving, revitalizing and promoting authentic Maramureș values, costumes and traditions.

Cultural Significance

The project brings back to the forefront the atmosphere of the old satirical community parties. The core of the event is the reconstruction of the custom of "dancing in the barn", where the villagers and the guests wear the popular clothes from the Chioar and the historical Maramureș area to play on the live music of the citizens.
